Life before I met Christ.
My life before I met Christ was very sad and dark. I lived almost 39 years of my life with a very thick and dark blindfold on my eyes. I made many mistakes, I offended and hurt many people because of my immaturity and lack of empathy. I was an extremely self-centered person. I lied without thinking about it. I didn't take anything or anyone seriously. When I was 14 years old my father died suddenly and when I got home from school I went to his bedroom to tell him that I had returned home and he did not respond, I found him dead and my life after that was never the same, my father was a very serious man and he never gave me a word of love or the attention that a girl needed, when he died I immediately felt a deep pain of abandonment and for 25 years I was angry and hurt others because of my deep anger, I looked for love in the male figure, I got married, I got divorced, I got married again and I got divorced again, I could not have a stable relationship because my heart was full of wounds of abandonment, fear and resentment.
My encounter with Christ
My life changed in 2018 when Jesus, who is all love and mercy, called me to attend a women's retreat through a bulletin at my church. As soon as I read that invitation to the retreat, my heart burned with enthusiasm and desire to attend. When I arrived at the retreat, my life changed incredibly. Jesus was waiting for me and cut the blindfold that I had on my eyes and in an incredible way I could see clearly (John 9:25). One thing I know: I was blind and now I see. My testimony matches this biblical verse. In the scripture, this is all our map to paradise where the Father has a special place for us. When I left that retreat, I could see everything with absolute clarity and I began to have a relationship with God the Father. He told me that He was and always has been my perfect Father, who has always been with me and that He is the one I have sought all this time.
The fruits of my encounter with Christ
The fruits of my encounter with Jesus Christ are many. As soon as I put him first in my life, he filled me with love and peace. We do everything together. We have a very special relationship. With him, I can be just as I am. He loves me unconditionally and forever. Another very special fruit is the burning love that God put in my heart for our heavenly mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary. I didn't pray the rosary and I began to pray it every day. I pray that you who are reading this testimony, feel a special call from God. He always speaks to us, through a retreat, through a friend, a testimony... May God bless you.
If you had the opportunity to receive more of the Holy Spirit in your life, would you want it?
